The BPM will support the Business Process Lead for Cost Accounting in designing and supporting the deployment of Astra

Zeneca Operations' new global functional global processes, standards and policies, incorporating cost centre accounting, process order accounting, month-end close activities. In addition you will be getting involved in Inventory Accounting processes to ensure we have a cohesive global solution being deployed. The outputs of the Cost Accounting and Inventory Accounting processes are fundamental to our step change in reporting and analytics for Operations.

The programme deliverables are highly visible across Global, Regional and manufacturing site audiences and will form a important input into supporting Operations identify initiatives to optimise production and hence achieve the target of reducing COGM by 2% per annum (realising the business case of the project). This role will require an understanding across Standard Product Costing, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Performance Measurement as well as some knowledge of manufacturing processes.

The role requires liaising with other workstreams across the project and with the end users of the solutions, providing insights and guidance to ensure successful delivery of the target outcomes. The role will be responsible for supporting the design of:
* Cost accounting which includes the following areas
* Cost centre accounting
* Production order accounting
* New product introduction accounting
* Cost allocations
* Third party supplier
* Sub-contracting (GES/BES/Toll)
* Primary distribution costs In this role you will:
* Support in the development and implementation of standardised best practise global cost accounting processes delivering efficiency and effectiveness, including defining and running workshops, capturing outputs and interpreting to ensure clear requirements are defined
* Support GFS (finance shared services) in adapting standard global cost accounting processes & policies to ensure regional compliance
* Defend and drive the adoption of the solution, challenging, analysing and approving deviations or localisation only where there is valid justification driven by business criticality or statutory requirements
* Contribute to the definition of the SAP ECC and SAP BW solutions, based on defined requirements ensuring the end deliverable meets the requirements laid out by the Design team
* Support in the development and implementation of global cost accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), KPIs and month-end-close processes SLA's in accordance with:
* International Accounting Standards
* AZ internal policies and guidelines
* Industry best practise
* Support the development of global standardised Cost Accounting reports (identifying standard SAP ECC reports, defining SAP BW reports and providing knowledge transfer and training to end users on interpreting reports
* Support the development of process and systems roles according to segregation of duties
* Contribute into Cost Accounting related master data definitions, usage and policies - including analysis of business scenarios and their impact on master data
* Support Cost Accounting UAT and validation of test results, including analysis to support defect resolution Essential Skills and Experience
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification
* Experience of cost accounting, inventory accounting and performance measurement with best practise standards in pharma industry
* Experience of global technology implementations (ERP and BI tools )
* Proven solid working knowledge of SAP and BI
* Experience of change management and change management processes
* Demonstrated success building cross-functional global networks and stakeholder management
* Experience of implementing business change across different national and business boundaries
* Up to date knowledge of developments within the wider Finance function and understanding of how changes may affect the function (or be leveraged to drive continuous improvement).
* Ideal candidates will have specific pharma industry and process experience Desirable Skills and Experience
* CIMA/CA professional qualification
* Broad process experience (development, management and application of)
* Significant work experience in supply chain finance
