Job Purpose & Objectives:

The Pensions Technical Delivery Manager will be a member of the Buck Consultants - Pensions administration Quality Assurance & Technical team, which helps Buck administrators understand important pension legislative, regulatory changes, judicial and research developments, as well as providing process guidance and standards documentation.

The role of the Pensions Technical Delivery Manager is to provide technical expertise to the pension administration teams throughout the UK and EMEA (across a number of offices) with a focus on;

  • Company-wide standards and agreed processes and procedures;

  • Customer experience;

  • The need to balance regional requirements with company objectives/strategy.

  • Duties and responsibilities:

  • Be aware of appropriate legislative changes, it’s impact on the business and communicate changes effectively across our pension administration operations;

  • Develop and maintain process maps and standard correspondence for use by pension administration teams;

  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation and guidance notes for use by pension administration with a focus on continuous improvement;

  • Act as an assessor / mentor for vocational qualifications students;

  • Produce training materials for use within pension administration and, where appropriate, deliver training on a face-to-face basis and by creation of online training;

  • Assist pension administration by answering technical queries from colleagues either verbally or in writing.

  • Required skills and experience:

  • Strong experience working with different occupational pension schemes - DB, DC, CARE, Hybrid;

  • Proven knowledge of current pensions industry regulatory and legal obligations, relating to pensions administration;

  • Proven experience carrying out complex manual pension’s calculations;

  • Ideally PMI qualified or a willingness to study towards qualifications;

  • Good understanding of various codes of professional ethics and standards as set out by the PMI.

  • The ability to write clear and concise reports;

  • Presentation of verbal and written reports, analyses, recommendations and comments relative to activities and data reviewed;

  • Ability to produce accessible and technically accurate training materials and to present training sessions for pension administration;

  • Computer literate in the use of Office Systems, e.g. Microsoft Office for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations;

  • Be able to develop familiarity with the use of proprietary pension administration system, MasterKEY;

  • Document, monitor and report business risks and internal controls of the managed function.
