Opportunities at Female Only IRC
We're looking for people to create a brand new team based at our new Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), as part of our newly acquired contract. Individuals will have experience in relating to people that may be agitated or confused by their circumstances and are able to interact and assist potentially vulnerable individuals whilst in our care. Job Description
Job objectives and responsibilities
• Conducting Security/Intelligence analysis
• Co-ordinating and providing a response to PSU complaints
• Accompany Official visitors to answer questions
• Dealing with data protection requests
Main duties
Security Analysis:
1. The Security Administrator is responsible for updating the DMS System with information gained from Home Office paperwork such as IS91's and movement sheets and to set restriction levels as to which residential unit is best suited to accommodate each detainee within the Centre.
2. The Administrator will check through prison files received for detainees who have arrived from within the prison estate and identify any potential offences or behavioural histories which may pose a potential threat to other detainees, staff or visitors to the Centre.
3. Security files are to be opened and maintained for all Ex Foreign National Offenders and any detainee who may have sufficient historical behavioural issues such as escape risks or violence and sexual offences.
4. The Administrator would also be responsible for maintaining accurate records on all high risk detainees and to review their restriction level monthly.
5. The Administrator will keep a log of all detainees who pose a risk to women and children and conduct a risk assessment upon arrival for high risk areas such as Domestic Visits.
6. The Administrator will also monitor movements of high risk detainees such as sex offenders and advise the Police of releases from the Centre. All risk assessment will be reviewed monthly by the analyst.
7. The analyst will be responsible for the returning of prison files to the prison service when detainees have been successfully removed from the UK.
8. The analyst will also assist the security DCOs within the Security Department with internal intelligence received from SIR's and Incident Reports and to maintain accurate records and draw up links charts when required.
The analyst will assist the Security Department DCOs with general security duties within the Security Office including the following tasks:
• Training
• Liaising with Police / Prisons / Removal Centre's
• Filing
• Processing Documentation
• Producing Staff Identity Cards
• Log keeping
• Compiling statistic's at month end
• Issuing of car passes for staff
The Security Administrator's key role will be ensuring the research for the both sides of the Centre is completed in timely fashion.
Compiling link charts from Intelligence gained by SIR
To act as an Administrator for the Taka Key System:
• Adding and revoking permissions on request of the Security Manager/Head of operations.
• Completing security checks
• Compiling list and timings where requested
Allocation and printing of staff ID cards and proxy access where requested. The Security Administrator will also assist in taking meeting notes for strategy meetings for complexes removal cases. Assisting with aliasing and cascaded information to DDIT, Home Office intelligence, SO15 and SO10. Keep track of the prominent nominal and agency nominal review and Intel dissemination. Sending the IS91 after release/temporary admission back to detention cost recovery unit at Croydon on a daily basis.
PSU Complaints co-ordination and Response
Due to the large number of PSU and police complaints received, the Security Administrator will receive and co-ordinate responses to the point of response.
Regular requests require:
• Putting together and copying of large files
• Collation of evidence requested, from both core file and DMS history
• Viewing and organization of CCTV. (often requests involve the viewing of a large timeframes of footage)
• Being the reactive port of call for ad-hoc queries for PSU and Police regarding ongoing investigations
Official visits questions and queries
There is a requirement for the Security Administrator to also respond to questions and quires that arise from outside agencies and stakeholders regarding the official visits process that the switchboard may not be able to cover:
• Questions regarding specialist bookings which require sign off by the Duty Manager, the Security Administrator will compile the information relating to the request and supply to the DM for a decision.
• Look into and compile information regarding to specific failures or complaints for this area and supply to the Head of Operations.
• Supply support when required to assist with processing of visitors in the Visits Centre.
Data Protection
The Security Administrator will ensure that all requests from the authority and outside agencies comply with data protection guidelines and are processed accordingly.
A log will be kept of such instances:
• Requests for visitors lists
• Requests for seizure of mobile phones, etc.
The Security Administrator will also assist with daily post functions where required such as:
• Post collection
• Franking
• Recorded / special delivery
This is an overview of the position but not an exhaustive list. The Administrator will work as part of the Security Team and will be under the direction of the Security Manager and the Head of Operations and will form an integral role ensuring the handling of all security related intelligence in accordance with the data protection act.
