Student Communities Coordinator

Job Description


The University of Nottingham Students’ Union are currently recruiting for 2 Student Communities Coordinators to join our teambased in Nottingham. You will be working on a full time, fixed term contract (35 hours per week until 15th April 2022) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £19,500 per annum.

The Student Communities Coordinator role:
The Student Communities Coordinator role connects students with opportunities to participate in and lead community-based activities to build a sense of belonging, increasing participation from under-represented and disadvantaged groups and promoting mental and physical wellbeing throughout our diverse membership. We are looking for a Student Communities Coordinator with the specific lead area of Volunteering who will support our volunteer student leaders and facilitate student-led volunteering opportunities and a Student Communities Coordinator with the specific lead area of Community Building who facilitates student-led activities and events that build on needs or interest, supporting students to develop student-led collaborations and new communities.

As our Student Communities Coordinator, some of the qualifications, skills and experience you will need are:
- Experience of developing opportunities for increasing engagement.

- Experience of supporting and coaching others.

- Experience in facilitating student led activities to enhance community social cohesion will be an advantage.

- Experience of working with external bodies and developing and delivering training to enhance the knowledge and skills to successfully promote mental and physical wellbeing.

- Experience of developing and delivering effective training and presenting information to a wide range of audiences.

- The ability to manage working time effectively and deliver projects is also essential.
