The University of Nottingham Students’ Union are currently recruiting for a Student Group Coordinator to join our teambased in Nottingham. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis (35 hours per week) and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £19,500 per annum.

As part of the Student Communities team, the Student Group Coordinator role will have a focus on providing services to student groups to run successfully by equipping student leaders with the skills and knowledge to lead their communities and provide their members with diverse opportunities to participate in. This will be by delivering a range of processes via learning, development and progress interventions in order to make an equitable student experience.
Your role will be part of a new structure at the Students’ Union so you would be joining us at an exciting time. You will have the opportunity to help shape the role, the team and the projects underpinning the work. This particular role would have ownership over our committee development projects.
In this role you will have oversight of all the new groups wishing to affiliate; working with committees to create a democratic, fair and harmonious student group.
As our Student Group Coordinator, some of the qualifications, skills and experience you will need are:
-An understanding of the democratic procedures of the Students’ Union would be desirable

- Experience of working with and supporting students or community activity and members to deliver and develop their activities is essential

- Experience of supporting and coaching others

- To be able to deliver effective training and present information to a range of audiences and use effective interpersonal skills to forge and maintain effective working relationships

- Effective consultation and negotiation skills to achieve a desired outcome are essential as well as the ability to develop strong working relationships
