Job Description

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a director / associate director of cost consultancy to be based in Bristol. Currie & Browns Bristol office has been operating since 2000 and has established itself as a market leader in the delivery of cost consultancy services across a range of sectors. We have recently secured a number of high-profile projects in the region, which support the expansion of our team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take an active role in the delivery of our service to key clients.

Responsibilities will include:

Providing accurate cost advice and reporting
Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments
Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
Managing a quantity surveying team and mentoring junior members of the team
Providing support to the QS director in the cost management services of the Bristol office
Contributing to achieving the targets of the five-year plan and taking responsibility for P&L of cost management services
Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
Networking with clients and attending relevant events to promote Currie & Brown in the region
Participating in business development, winning work and fee generation of the cost management service
Taking a lead role in interfacing with clients and other consultants es

Requirements:

Technical qualification in a construction-related discipline
Member of a relevant professional organisation
Technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy
Knowledge of local and national commercial marketplace

Experience of project delivery in public and private sectors

Ability to run and deliver significant projects
Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive and willing to work in a mutually supportive environment
A team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
