Person Specification
The Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant appointed into this role will be a progressive Maths graduate who is knowledgeable in the subject and has a second class degree or above from a successful university. Ideally, the chosen candidate will also have a sound understanding of how to work with children based on previous experiences within similar roles, although this is not essential. The ideal Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant will have a desire for more responsibility in the role, with a fervent determination to shape the next generation of learners. We are searching for a directed, passionate Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant who will not only enhance the learning experience of the pupils by imparting excellent subject knowledge skills, but will also inspire a future generation of Scientists and Mathematicians with their enthusiasm and positive style of educating.

About the Role
As a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant you will mostly be working in tandem with the class teacher to prepare and deliver lessons that excite and stimulate interaction with the core subject from the pupils. This will require you to help prepare and perform classes teaching all key stage levels with pupils of mixed ability. You will be progressing your abilities by working closely with a mentor Class Teacher who will tutor you through the rest of the academic year preparing you for a successful career. Your duties will include aiding the class teacher by taking low or high ability children away from mainstream lessons for a while in booster groups and 1:1 sessions. Treat this role as a potential job lead as the most successful support staff are kept on as part of the School Direct training programme. A Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant is also expected to be supporting the Mathematics team in general, a department who have earned wide spread popularity across the whole of the student body. This Maths Teaching Assistant position involves joining a well-equipped department that is constantly using the latest resources and indoor learning space to raise attainment.
