If you are interested and qualified for this role, we invite you to apply. Develops and maintains profitable SBA and other government loans with the Commercial and Retail Divisions. Responsibilities include identifying needs, recommending products, negotiating loan terms, coordinating loan approvals and closings, and management of client relationships and existing portfolio. Additional responsibilities include prospecting for new clients through networking and external calling efforts to generate new relationships. Provide training, coaching, and guidance to assigned Business Bankers and Commercial Bankers to promote the sale of SBA and other government lending products. Contributes to initiatives and programs designed to promote organization’s strategic priorities. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of strategies/plans to assist Business and Commercial Bankers within assigned Markets to develop new SBA and other government loans. Establish personal sales plans/strategies for assigned territory. Coordinates new SBA/government loan origination requests, participates in loan closings, identifies new business account relationships, and refers other Bank products and services as necessary through the Retail Network Consults with Business Bankers, Commercial lenders and Branch Mangers on challenging/complex government loan sales opportunities. Provides training, coaching and guidance on SBA and other government loan products to Business Bankers, Commercial Lenders and other Retail associates. Participates in prospect and client meetings to assist Business Bankers, Commercial Lenders and other Retail Associates in sales environment. Serves as primary contact for assigned territory and maintain overall responsibility for SBA /government lending requests. Participates in all bank marketing and sales promotions; contributes to initiatives and programs designed to promote organization’s strategic priorities; complies with all bank, loan and regulatory guidelines and policies Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job Requires ability to solicit, analyze and act upon widely diverse points of view and exceptional skill at gaining agreement on issues of the highest level of importance Authority and freedom to act independently and make controversial decisions within broad interpretation of laws, regulations and company policies. Such decisions could have a significant short term effect on company financial results and business prospects. Helps shape company strategies, contributing significantly to policy formulation and revision. Potentially leading to a major loss of customers, shareholders or regulator confidence. Consequences may threaten the viability of the company, potentially leading to a change of ownership and/or loss of jobs. Requires personal computer literacy and strong knowledge of all departments within the bank, specifically lending, deposit services, investments, operations, financial planning, and budgeting. Requires knowledge of regulatory reporting and filing requirements and rules and regulations of SBA/government lending programs. Preferred Knowledge and Skills Bachelor’s degree in a course of study specific to accounting, finance, economics, business administration or otherwise applicable to position. Minimum of one year of sales experience with proven successful results. Sales calling experience preferred. Ability to successfully coach, motivate and develop staff. Also requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; sales and marketing oriented, self-motivated with ability to complete projects in an efficient and timely manner; excellent time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of rules and requirements of SBA/government lending programs. Level of Complexity and Scope Traditional office environment with low noise level. Moderate amount of time is spent out of the office, making business development calls or traveling to branch or corporate Degree of Independence and Decision-Making Works under direct supervision Required Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may have assigned direct reports on special projects and will have dotted line supervisory input in relation to training and coaching responsibilities. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to apply visual attention, dexterity and coordination in the operation of office equipment; talk or hear; Requires high sales leadership and management ability.
