Job description The successful candidate will be joining the rapidly-growing Transformation service line within Accounting Advisory Services (AAS), focusing on innovation and the future of finance. This is a client-facing Senior Manager role, providing specialist IFRS technical accounting advice to clients across a range of areas supporting finance transformation projects. We are looking for motivated, proactive individuals who have a blended experience of technical accounting, finance operations, and a working knowledge of financial reporting systems. This role combines accounting expertise with a variety of disciplines including project management, implementing leading-practice financial reporting processes, driving accounting automation and digitisation efforts, and providing cross-functional support with KPMG Management Consulting to win and deliver finance transformation projects. This role also includes providing hands-on accounting operational support to clients, including accounting policy conversions and GAAP analysis, post-M&A operational deal support, and implementation of new accounting standards and trainings – often working as part of cross-functional teams including Management Consulting, IT, Risk, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Transaction Services, Audit and Tax. We are seeking additional qualified accountants to continue to extend the depth and breadth of accounting-based services, in the areas listed above and beyond. This opportunity can be based anywhere in the UK. Key Responsibilities: Act as dedicated project manager and team leader accountable for delivery of quality, efficient, and profitable engagements; delegate and oversee junior team membersProvide technical accounting insight into larger, multi-disciplinary finance transformation and digital automation projects led by other departments within KPMG Develop client relationships and utilise network to identify opportunities for KPMG to perform additional services; drive business development efforts for the AAS Transformation service line Demonstrate a working knowledge of key financial reporting processes Demonstrate a willingness to learn about new technologies and digital solutions to support accounting policy management and reporting automation. Past experience with GL systems, ERPs, or cloud reporting platforms a plus. Clearly communicate analysis, observations, and recommendations both written and verbally; act as a bridge between AAS and system specialists Build and maintain excellent relationship with other departments with whom AAS works closely Deliver compelling proposals which result in winning engagements for new client opportunities Work effectively as a senior team member sharing responsibility, providing support, and updating senior members on progressMentor staff, conduct performance reviews, and contribute to performance feedback Demonstrate continuous self-development, with a proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges Keep up to date with regulatory changes, accounting topics, and and circumstances which affect financial reporting and internal controlsPrepare and deliver presentations, training, thought leadership, and marketing materialsActively contribute to Accounting Advisory Services strategy, team management, and other non-delivery aspects of the roleKey Qualifications and Skills Required: Qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant or international equivalent)Previous experience in managing an accounting function within large Corporate business sector, operations and controls experience beneficial Successful track-record in leading and developing client relationships, leading teams, and project managementSome exposure to technology and/or of ERP projects and programmes is particularly desirableProblem solving attitude and proven ability to apply accounting concepts to unusual one-off situationsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal Technical accounting experience with IFRS, including foundational knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP and Companies Act Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleaguesAnalytical ability and attention to detail
