Ricoh are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager based in Europe

What you will be doing
The Senior Project Managers will be expected to own & lead the delivery of assigned high complexity / large projects within schedule, budget and performance constraints. Managing all communications with internal and external stakeholders, including coordination across related work packages and controlling risk and change across the engagement.

The Senior Project Manager is typically accountable for the joined-up delivery through pilot / acceptance of all required solution components, including: functional and non-functional technical requirements, security requirements, systems integration, physical equipment and software licensing, product configuration, service takeover / readiness and activation, support readiness and billing readiness.

The Senior Project Manager may additionally be required to support any projects led by another Senior Project Manager as part of a broader Project Team, by managing the delivery of assigned sub-projects or work packages within the overall engagement and collaborating with the owning Senior Project Manager to minimize rework, reduce cost / increase revenue and maximise customer satisfaction.

The Senior Project Manager is expected to mentor, encourage and supervise more junior Project Managers / Team Members allocated to work with them directly or indirectly on projects or sub-projects that they lead. In particular, the Senior Project Manager is expected to contribute actively to reusability and standardization initiatives that benefit the EMEA PM Community.

The Senior Project Manager is expected to be a fully certified Project Management professional with a solid track record of successful on-schedule delivery and budget management, healthy stakeholder satisfaction levels, a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development and strong to excellent soft skills in leadership and stakeholder management.
You will ideally have
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for applying the following independently, in complex situations and lead teams to collectively and collaboratively apply the competence:
  • Promoting the public wider good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally and socially appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of portfolio teams and organisation.
  • For medium complexity projects: create draft, costed plans and documented project proposals / statements of work in response to commercial change requests or in support of bids and tenders.
  • Develop and negotiate a high-level delivery approach and resolve complexity through project architecture / effective work breakdown structure, in particular: creating, advocating and communicating logically structured and sequential schedules that minimise the risk of rework, maximise the opportunity for efficient scaling, and avoid needless onsite disruption.
  • Directing, managing and participating in team-based delivery of project objectives, developing and contributing positively to the team culture and empowering colleagues to deliver successful projects, whilst demonstrating project management skills by example and application.
  • Developing "template standard" project initiation documentation and implementation schedules in collaboration with the customer assigned stakeholders and internal workstream leaders, taking account of dependencies and resource availability. Maintaining the validity of the schedule through applied project change control.
  • Developing and documenting a robust quality plan for projects, defining toll-gates, proactively negotiating and agreeing stage-based acceptance criteria and securing formal acceptance at key milestones to ensure painless invoicing.
  • Developing and documenting work instructions / defining work packages for execution by supporting Project Managers and procurement management of required 3rd party services within the project. Forecasting and securing the provision of resources needed for projects from internal and/or external providers.
  • Proactively managing change and driving outcome optimisation through innovation in planning. Reporting status, progress, risks / issues across all "owned" projects and work packages and accounting for change throughout the lifespan of the engagement.
  • Identifying, addressing and resolving differences between individuals and/or interest groups
  • Demonstrate ownership across the E2E solution and drive innovation to determining the optimal means of delivering the customer's requirements within the context of project objectives and constraints
Skills and Knowledge:

A Senior Project Manager will need to have a working knowledge of the following:
  • Bachelor-level qualification (either by work-experience or by having a bachelor certificate)
  • Proficiency in MS SharePoint, MS Office, incl. MS Project Enterprise / MS Project Online and MS Visio
  • Project planning / management tools and techniques.
  • Project management principles, stakeholder communications, project governance, risk / change management and compliance
  • Certification in one of the following recognised project management standards: PMI PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner or APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ).
