Position: Senior Performance Analyst
Analyst The Money and Pensions Service vision is 'everyone making the most of their money and pensions'. This new organisation brings together the free services delivered by the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise.
We are an Arms-Length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime.
The organisation will also engage with HM Treasury, which is responsible for policy on financial capability and debt advice. Working hand-in-hand with stakeholders throughout the UK, the Money and Pensions Service will ensure that money and pensions guidance is available to those that need it, adapting to people's changing needs throughout their lives.
The Purpose of the role
* Support the intelligent commissioning of services through performance management, analytics and data management
* Provide statistical analysis and data modelling using a wide range of tools and techniques on both internal and external datasets
* To provide data mining, modelling and visualisation expertise and leadership
* To interpret and communicate insights from complex data analysis in a meaningful and comprehensive way for both internal and external stakeholders
* To lead and manage a Business Intelligence executive Key Accountabilities
* Identifying the analytical and data-modelling needs for projects and initiatives across the organisation
* Being an expert in data management, analysis and insight and ensuring the most effective use of tools and techniques available
* Providing analytic input to derive critical insight for strategic decision making
* Building and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners
* Establishing strong partnerships and advocating collaboration at every opportunity
* Pro-actively contributing to projects and initiatives across the organisation
* Working in a cross functional capacity with analysts across the organisation Experience and expertise: Essential
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to present complex data to a wide variety of audiences
* Ability to analyse complex data, draw insight conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations to senior stakeholders and decision makers
* Ability to work with ambiguous, incomplete or missing data
* Experience of working with large geo-demographic and socio-economic datasets
* Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
* Experience of leading / directing a team of analysts
* Intermediate / advanced Excel: (Pivot Tables, Lookups, VBA)
* Experience in development, maintenance and usage of Power

BI (Desktop and Service) - or similar Data Visualisation platform
* A degree with a numerical or technical focus in mathematics, statistics or computer science and/or relevant experience in research and data analysis Desirable
* Experience in Geographic Information System (GIS)
* Experience in working with financial data and assessing value for money
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Previous experience of working in a Regulatory / Local or Central Government department
* An understanding of Microsoft data storage architecture (SharePoint & Teams especially)
