The Student Data and Systems (SDS) service supports learning and teaching at UWE and helps enhance the student experience. It is an exciting time to join the SDS community, as UWE is part way through our Student Journey Programme, a major initiative to bring transformational change to the way in which we deliver services to our prospective, future, current and former students. There are a number of projects within the programme, including those to introduce a curriculum management tool and a new student records and relationship management system.
The SDS community works together to join up our various business and system areas so that we do not work in siloes but contribute to a “Team UWE” approach to stewarding our student data.
The Student Data and Systems service is seeking to appoint two Student Data and Systems Officers:
Student Data and Systems Officer (Student Journey)
The role will initially work within a large cross-functional project team delivering a new institutional student information system and working with IT technical staff to help delivery. On completion of the system implementation the role will move to an operational setting with a continued focus on the stewardship of information assets as part of an effective and efficient operational service that supports the University’s ambitions.
Student Data and Systems Officer (Management Information)
This new role is within the Student Business Systems team, providing support across faculties and services with a focus on enhancing the provision of a professional reporting service. You’ll be working within a team supporting ongoing ‘best use’ of our business systems to support student, staff and external customer experience of our systems.
We are looking for someone who seeks opportunities to develop themselves in order to contribute to service enhancement. Once appointed, we will support your personal learning and development to help you to develop in this role.
In both roles, you will be instrumental in delivering a data service that contributes to an excellent student experience and using your strong analytical skills, exploring ways in which you can contribute to the wider student information governance and service enhancement.
It is an exciting time to join the student data community at UWE as we have embarked on an ambitious agenda to invest in our student information systems, grow our organisational data capability and develop our collective skills – it is an environment where you really could make a difference.
