Senior Financial Accountant - US GAAP Experience
City of London - Onsite 2/3 days per week
6 months initial contract

My client is looking for a qualified Senior Finance Accountant with experience within the insurance sector. Strong commercial finance skillset spanning FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and finance business partnering. Solid experience of US GAAP reporting is essential for this role.
You will need an In-depth understanding of the GTS business to ensure that monthly financial reporting is fully analysed, understood, challenged and explained to the appropriate underwriters and senior management within the clients Finance and Global Risk Solutions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Partner GTS Executive, senior leadership and business stakeholders across the clients and NAS. Contact point for Head of M&A, country managers, and the clients/NAS for everything in relation to the international offices and their results. This will involve multiple stakeholders globally, and require management of respective finance structures and their complexities in different jurisdictions
Support the London CFO with financial analysis and planning of the business within the London pillar
Support the North America Specialty (NAS) CFO with provision of financial analysis and planning of business written on NAS
Manage and develop an FP&A Analyst (direct report)
Proactively and independently problem solve issues across the global GTS business and seek out opportunities to add value in the business
Present the GTS results to leadership teams across the clients, NAS and GRS
Produce MD&A / MOR commentary, proactively providing insight and information on the result
Responsible for co-ordinating collection and review of business inputs for Plan and ensuring that the business understand the full P&L and how this has evolved throughout the process (albeit many aspects will be collected and input into planning tool centrally – reinsurance contracts, loss ratios, expenses, etc).

Required Knowledge and Qualifications
ACA/ CIMA/ACCA qualified Senior Accountant/ Finance Business Partner
Knowledge of US GAAP
High level of insurance accounting and industry knowledge.
Strong commercial finance skillset spanning FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and finance business partnering.
