More About the Role:
As Director, NA People Planning, you will be responsible for building and leading a strategic, business-critical resource management discipline at Ogilvy that drives a cultural shift towards people accountability. By developing a forward-looking, data-driven workforce strategy for North America, you will identify opportunities to optimize our people first, drive diverse casting and support long term growth and performance strategies for the company. Additionally, you will be responsible for acting as the people planning platform's product owner, making sure it is delivered through a tech-enabled, data-driven approach that harmonizes process, rituals, and KPI's to predict future and current workforce needs.

Your Key Responsibilities in the Role:
You will engage with many leaders across North America's capabilities and locations and establish yourself as an integral part of the NA Executive leadership team. You will be responsible for:
Define the structure and lead the implementation of the People Planning function in North America. Establish the People Planning workflow, process & best practices. Shape the product vision and roll-out plan for the resourcing and delivery platform; managing the vendor and owning a central playbook Set workforce metrics for measurement and dashboard reporting with People, Finance and Executive leadership Implement a proven process for aligning People Planning with Talent Acquisition, ensuring all internal staffing options are exhausted before external searches begin Oversee a team of People Partners in key offices; building a community for cross-brand sharing and talent optimization Work with the North American ExCo team to meet regional people KPI's Participate in the WPP Resource Management community, identifying resource sharing opportunities across the network where possible
Other Aspects of the Role:
Attend NA Executive Leadership meetings and update key Operational metrics (Utilization, Realization, Talent Gaps etc.) through dashboard reporting Act as the first point of escalation for all NA People Planning issues; partner with NA Leadership to achieve resolution. Provide guidance and thought leadership in People Planning subjects for NA Leadership Be an active member of the WPP People Planning taskforce in North America Be part of Ogilvy's People Planning Global leadership team to help drive the People Planning function's integration and optimization globally.
Client & New Business Leadership
Partner with Business and Client leadership to identify areas of Business and Client growth and the Talent needed to support growth Run Talent Meetings with Client Leads to discuss the health of accounts and team members Collaborate with Business and Client Leads to create transparency around team metrics (e.g., forecasted capacity reporting; utilization vs. realization; billability & skills need analysis; future staffing trends) Oversee allocation of the correct agency teams to each project based on a real understanding of the project requirements, the SOW and the strengths of each member of the agency Partners with Client Business & PMOs to develop and maintain a profitable Contribution Margin. Provide analysis in course-correcting over-servicing and allocation of the correct assignment of Talent Partner with NA Client Leads to craft the perfect mix of Talent for pitches and new clients. Participate in client pitches to describe the Ogilvy talent operating model. Provide detailed quarterly analysis for time spent on new business activities.
Partnership with Talent Acquisition and HR to identify talent and skill gaps, prioritize open positions and gain internal financial approvals needed to begin the external hiring process. Support long-term planning of hiring Talent by providing staffing trends, analyzing current and future utilization and future skills needs. Maintain and optimize a pool of talented freelancers and suppliers, approved by NA and location Heads of Department. Establish a regular cadence of meeting with NA and location People and HR teams to identify growth opportunities and provide input on promotion metrics Identify Ogilvy and WPP mobility opportunities from a change of client, short and long term moves and immediate support. Partner with DE & I and Learning & Development teams to set utilization targets for team level improvement. Drive diversity of Talent into client and project teams - ensure casted Talent represents a diverse set of backgrounds, skillsets and expertise. Act as confidante and partner in sensitive talent issues, maintaining the strictest of confidentiality.
Project Management Partnership
Partner with PMOs for oversight and management of all team talent/resourcing needs. Partner in the development and implementation of new and iterative processes that improve the agency's effectiveness and efficiency. Point of escalation for all talent/resourcing needs with Regional and location PMO leads. Periodically reviews Client Scopes of Work to ensure consistency and accuracy in Staffing needs
People Planning Team Management
Lead a team of People Planning location leads (PPLL) in the ongoing management and optimization of our People Planning function. Collaborates with the PPLL on a daily and weekly basis for cross-region and cross-location talent sharing. Make strategic recommendations based on explicit knowledge and understanding of the departmental skill sets across location and region. Establishes a culture for team collaboration, inspiration, improvement and active listening
