The role provides a fantastic opportunity to grow in a fast-paced environment and help to reshape the way we work with suppliers, manage risk and drive efficiencies across the business.The hiring manager for this role is David Cohen-ScaliYou will be responsible forManaging key agricultural raw material exposure (P&L, cover positions) and executing pricing strategy collaboration with SuppliersDeveloping price risk management hedging strategies and market view based on market research, managing cover positions as well as P&L reportingProvide Market Intelligence across categoryWorking with buying team, forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, to deliver commodity-led savings, as well as sales and margin targetsDeveloping and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (traders, commodity house, suppliers, banks..)Identifying best commodity risk management practice in the industry and suppliersBuilding cost models linking retail procurement to commodity markets, and agreeing transparent ways of working with supplier partners.Working with commercial, responsible sourcing and agricultural teams to support Tesco Sustainable Farming Groups (TSFGs) and environmental initiatives Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all my training so that I have zero GSCOP breachesEnsuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within my teamFollowing our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligenceYou will needAgricultural commodity market knowledgeBuying and procurement experience within commodity sectorDeveloping a product area strategyUnderstanding of country and global supply chain productsNegotiation skillsSupplier management experienceStakeholder management skillsData AnalysisKey People and Teams you will work with:Buying ManagersFinance, TreasurySustainability and Agricultural teamsSuppliers, commodity suppliers, trading companies & industry analystsBudgets you will be responsible for:BFL Budget - tracking and ensuring reporting in Finance, and commodity governance reportsAbout usAbout UsTesco has become a market leader by doing the little things that really matter for our customers and colleagues.
