We are seeking an energetic, passionate, and highly motivated candidate that will help support the delivery of the organisation’s internal and external communications strategy. The role will serve as an extension of ABM’s U.S. based communication organization and support the UK regional strategic communication needs of the business with a focus on embracing a proactive approach to drive awareness and engagement across all key stakeholders including team members, customers and partners.
Collaboration and close liaison across the regional and enterprise teams is vital to ensure alignment and support of ABM’s mission business strategy and OneABM platform for the UK business.
The successful candidate will bring a results-drive and strategic approach to the role and use their exceptional writing, planning, and editing skills to create compelling internal and external communication plans that leverage various vehicles and platforms to drive engagement and tell the ABM story including company intranet site, media relations, magazines & podcasts; updating bulletin boards or calendars of events; and managing other tools to produce print and digital copies of communication.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and posting communications across all UK social media platforms, in alignment with ABM’s company-wide social media strategy, including LinkedIn,
Twitter, and Instagram utilising relevant data sources to analysis engagement, trends and activity. They will also be responsible for creating relevant content for senior leadership to post on their own professional networking platforms.
Working alongside the marketing and proposals team, this role will, from time to time, provide support with various marketing related activity, creative or analytical.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Execute a best-in-class communications plan designed to drive awareness for ABM and the company’s mission and business strategy among its key stakeholders and increase visibility of its services across all audiences
Help build and maintain a culture where two-way internal communication is seen as fundamental and integral to the success of the business and our team members
Create a quarterly regional content calendar for a variety of channels (internal and external) that is aligned with enterprise-wide communication plan
Develop a thought leadership platform for members of the SLT including identifying speaking opportunities and presence across digital and social media platforms
Leverage identified social media channels to support communication with team members and external stakeholders, leveraging audience feedback and engagement into future content generation. Full administration and responsibility for the UK social media strategy and channels sits within this role
Protect the reputation of the ABM brand across social by enforcing governance, policing unauthorized or under-resourced social channels
Support the internal / external comms response to crisis management situations, working closely with the communication team and our PR agency
Monitor analytics and assist in generating reports to demonstrate success of all communications – guidance/governance will be put into place by corporate team
Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies, features and other workstreams identified to support the business
Help co-ordinate and project manage photo shoots / filming for the creation of new material and literature
Monitor media coverage and analyse reports / data to demonstrate success and ROI
Monitor competitors and provide high level analysis monthly (identified competitors) across all IG’s
Attend relevant events and provide on ground support from a PR & Comms Perspective
Person Specification:
Exceptional communication, presentation and listening skills
Driven, focused self-starter/strong initiative, and quick learner Good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, analyse program effectiveness
Strong creative writer, editing & proofing skills
An understanding of research and evaluation techniques
Well organised with ability to multi-task and think outside of the box
Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a fast-paced team
Must be able to prioritise projects, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Good knowledge of Adobe CS suite: Illustrator, InDesign
Good understanding of and use of typography and color
An interest in and understanding of user experience
Able to work across multiple projects and balance priorities between them, producing high-quality work to tight deadlines
A team player and communicator with a positive working attitude

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience within a comms or PR role
Travel Requirements
Time spent visiting our sites and our people to help understand and create the right content as and when necessary

* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
