DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER
FULL TIME, PERMANENT

Responsibilities include:

Oversight of strategy and delivery for channels/disciplines with the team: Email (campaigns, automation, targeting), Social media (organic, paid), SEO, Paid media strategy (PPC, digital display), The Wine Society's online Community.
Ability to be hands-on in any channel when needed, including to provide cover for members of Digital Marketing team if necessary
Key member of the 'trading' working group at The Wine Society (alongside the Head of Campaigns and Online Trading Manager) delivering day-to-day sales targets, developing the trading calendar and longer-term planning
Provide the digital channel response to the marketing / trading plan, working in close partnership with Campaigns and Online trading teams
Ensure excellent delivery of the digital aspects of our campaigns across a number of objectives: sales, acquisition, retention, reactivation, engagement. Ensuring activity delivered to time and on budget
Overseeing testing in these channels and evolution of Best Practice
In oversight of Social and Community - identify threats and opportunities surrounding The Wine Society, managing, or escalating as needed
Champion segmentation and personalisation. Lead our understanding of, and adaptation to, changes and opportunities externally
Supporting the objectives of our Digital Excellence strategy - building culture, capability, process, and governance for digitally-led sustainable business
Longer-term, developing new digital channels for The Wine Society in line with needs of the business and members. Developing business cases, running trials, gaining approvals, and setting up new teams
Performance of activity within the team - working with the Loyalty & Insight team. Test and Learn planning for digital marketing.
Work with Online Trading to ensure website is aligned to digital marketing requirements. Work with Digital Product team to ensure development roadmap is aligned to digital marketing requirements.
Deputise for the Head of Digital when needed
Creating a team culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Development and welfare of the Digital Marketing team. Recruitment of new team members.
Ensuring consideration of diversity and inclusivity in our digital activity
Ensuring our approach is legal (selling wine) and responsible (with respect to alcohol consumption). Rigorous legal data compliance - GDPR, PECR etc.
Being 'insatiably curious' about our members, our product, and the market
Keeping The Wine Society on top of digital marketing best practice and external technology and market impacts
Fostering productive relationships with the Head of Digital, Head of Campaigns, Online Trading manager and wider marketing team
Fostering excellent relationships with our suppliers, agencies, and contributors. Relevant agency selection and agency management

Candidates must have:

Graduate-level education
GDPR and its implications
Google Analytics
Google Tag Manager
Facebook Ads Manager
Google Ads Manager
Bing Ads Manager
Significant experience in a similar role
Retail marketing
Email marketing
Social media - organic and paid (good)
Digital paid media strategies
People management
Agency and Resource management (SEO agency, paid media agency)
Project management
Personalisation / segmentation
A/B and multivariate testing

To lead The Wine Society's digital marketing strategy staying aligned to our values and unique ethos, members' needs and business strategy.

Develop the expertise of the Digital Marketing team.
Lead the team to deliver engaging and effective digital marketing activity.
To grow the value of our digital channels, drive digital engagement and traffic to The Wine Society website.
Balance the channels for ROI, sales, and member experience / engagement.

Skills and Competencies Required
