An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior nurse to join the Division of Tertiary Medicine within Renal on a permanent basis.
Tertiary Medicine sits within Salford Care Organisation and encompasses several specialist services inclusive of Renal, Dermatology, Rheumatology Immunology and Hematology and Anticoagulation. As the Lead Nurse for Renal you will be expected to support a number of offsite facilities across Bolton, Wigan and Heywood.
Main duties of the job
1: To lead, plan, develop, monitor, and review the recruitment, deployment, and management of people, encompassing efficient and robust auditable process
2: To lead on divisional, nursing, and patient safety and quality key performance indicators targets of 90% and above.
3: To have track record of leading on driving and implanting change
4: To lead on developing and maintaining communication with people on complex matters, issues, and ideas and/or in complex situations
5: To lead on develop of oneself and the development of others
6: To Lead on maintaining and developing an environment and culture that improves health, safety, and security.
7: To lead on appraising, interpreting, solutions and recommendations, suggestions to improve services.
8: Lead on improving quality within the service
9: Lead on Promote equality and value diversity within the division
10: Lead on Planning, delivery, and evaluation of interventions and or treatments when there are complex issues and/or serious illness.
11: Leads on testing and reviewing new concepts, modes, and methods

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As Lead Nurse for Renal in the Division of Tertiary Medicine, you will be an inspirational and collaborative nurse with experience of leading on and showcasing how you have implemented change successfully, whilst setting clear expectations of the key performance indicators contributing to patient safety within a supportive and autonomous culture in a fast-paced clinical environment. Leading and supporting your teams to move forward.
You will have the leadership drive, passion and ability, to enable your teams to develop and grow and problem solve and to take on board change. You will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a strong professional role model leader for staff and can work autonomously and have a clear understanding of professional and current healthcare issues. Ideally you will also have previous experience in leading multi-site clinical environments or similar breath of experience
Renal Tertiary Medicine has a number of specialist nursing teams supporting the service inclusive of Vascular Access, Peritoneal Dialysis, Chronic Kidney Disease, Transplant and Live Donor
The role will require you to work closely with your inpatient ward, Renal Outpatient Department, The Specialist teams, Service, team and Clinical Leads for your area to ensure best care for our patients. The ideal Lead Nurse candidate will lead on being proactive and enthusiastic to lead on driving forward Renal Nursing and professional development in line with local, regional, and national priorities.

You should have evidence of leading on operational and strategic management, including evidence of leading on change management and developing practice in line with Key performance indicators
You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the health and social care economy. You must have as a minimum first level registration and a relevant first degree with recent continuing professional development including recognised evidence of master’s level study or equivalent experience relevant to the role.
