Project Administrator, working for ASDC, an Educational Charity, based in central Bristol (BS1). This is a highly varied role incorporating project support, events, operational support and office administration. The Project Administrator role (Office Administrator, Project Support) is a full-time position, but we are happy to be flexible and accommodate part-time hours (4 days a week or reduced hours, 5 days per week). We are also happy to facilitate a degree of home working. Salary £26,000 benefits including 25 days’ holiday bank holidays professional development pension cycle to work scheme private health care scheme (pro rata). Project Administrator role (Office Administrator, Project Support), The Role: We are seeking an exceptional individual to appoint to the highly varied role of Project Administrator role (Office Administrator, Project Support), to support and improve the smooth running and efficiency of ASDC. The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable, with a keen eye for detail and will enjoy working collaboratively at the heart of a small and fast-paced team. They will be confident to try new approaches and proactive in the face of changing priorities. The Charity: The UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC) is a vibrant national membership organisation that brings together the leading informal science engagement organisations, including the major science centres and museums. Every year their members work to encourage wider participation in science, engaging with over 25 million people of all ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities across the UK. They have an active Board of Trustees, and a vision for a society where people are intrigued, inspired and involved with the sciences. To achieve this, they work in close partnership with staff at all levels in their member science and discovery centres and museums. They also promote close collaboration and connection across the wider science education and engagement ecosystem, working with various stakeholders such as charitable trusts, research councils, Government departments, industrial partners, wider networks, youth and community partners and charities across the UK. Project Administrator role (Office Administrator, Project Support), Responsibilities: Operational and organisational support; assist the CEO with the governance of the Charity, attending board meetings etc., manage the membership database, update the website and other communication platforms, organise team meetings etc. Event support; assist the Communications Manager with promoting events, lead on event logistics, support the delivery of the ASDC National Conference (liaise with delegates, sponsors, speakers etc). Project support; support the Project Manager and Project Director with the development and delivery of National Projects, draft and proof-read documentation, coordinating project events, meetings with fundraisers etc. General administration; monitor mailboxes, organise paperwork, arrange travel, order office supplies, oversee IT requirements and office contractors etc. Project Administrator role (Office Administrator, Project Support), Skills and Experience Required: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to be proactive, multi-task, and prioritise and to be self-motivated, fast paced and embracing of change. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbally and in writing), with the confidence to represent ASDC at senior level. The ability to accurately proof-read documents and write engaging, concise content for a variety of platforms. Highly IT literate with the ability to learn and fully utilise technology, on-line platforms and social media (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Zoom, Eventbrite, Sage, Google docs, Twitter etc.) Highly preferable - the flexibility to travel to national events with occasional overnight stays and early starts. Highly preferable – an interest and value of ASDC’s vision to widen participation in science across the UK.
