About the Company

Cuffley Day Care Centre (a registered charity) is offering an exciting opportunity for you to work for us as a cook/support assistant.

We are a very happy community day care centre, providing support to the elderly in our homely and welcoming setting, overlooking the playing fields in Cuffley.

The needs of the individuals we support vary and may include early dementia or physical disablement. Our ethos is to provide a safe, caring and happy place both for our clients and our staff, with the highest standards of care, as we would expect to be cared for ourselves. We are looking for you to join the team as a cook/support assistant to provide person-centred care to our clients based on their individual needs.

What does this Cook/Support worker job involve?

In the main, you will be helping our cook with the ordering, preparation, cooking and serving of a two-course hot meal every day. We use fresh local produce wherever possible and cater to any dietary requirements as necessary

For part of the day, you will be required to help our support staff with the daily activities and crafts that we provide for our clients, or maybe giving a client 1:1 time.

Building good relationships with our clients and their families is essential to us, and supporting their emotional needs whilst encouraging independence is what our excellent reputation is built on.

Am I the right person for this Cook/Support worker job?

You must have experience of cooking in a similar setting and hold a Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate Level 2, and of course be passionate about cooking and caring for older adults. Applicants should have a happy, 'can do' attitude. Commitment and flexibility is key.
