DescriptionPurpose of the Role The finance and commercial team provide the commercial and finance functions to support Alliance. This includes finance, commercial, contract/legal matters and budget control and reporting. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide a leading role to support Alliance projects and the programme with commercial aspects. Accountabilities (Deliverables) Assisting QS/AQS/Cost Clerks with site measure queriesAgreement of subcontractor interim measures and final accountsDrafting and negotiation of supply chain contractsSupply chain contract administrationProcessing variation requests and orders with supply chain and Owner ParticipantResolution of contractual disputesProduction of monthly Cost Value ReportsProduction of monthly cost forecasts including accrued costsUtilisation and implementation of systems/processes to ensure cost allocation and reporting accuracyAssisting commercial manager with forecasting project and programme costs Responsibilities (Duties) Mentoring of QS/AQS/Cost Clerks Cost control and administration Subcontractor management Contract administration Change Control Budget management Accuracy of forecasting As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements. Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time. Person Specification Working in a commercial function within the engineering or construction sectorKnowledge of finance systems, databases and smartsheetsCost and budget administrationFinancial and commercial reportingGood working knowledge of Microsoft excelPrevious experience of working in labour, plant, material, subcontractor environment is preferredPrevious experience of working within an Alliance or SPV advantageousPrevious experience in Light Rail or Rail advantageous Qualifications Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subjectRelevant commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation
