SEMH Support Assistant
School in Bodmin
The school caters for students aged 5-16 who cannot thrive in a mainstream educational setting because of their social, emotional or mental health difficulties. Many pupils who attend this provision display challenging behaviours.

The school offers pupils a second chance at receiving a formal education; therefore, many pupils at this school need specialist support in order to support the child to reengage with their education. Many  pupils have had a previously negative experience within education and many will have been previously persistently absent.

The school aims to provide a space in which its students can grow academically, socially and emotionally and want the children to learn how to self-monitor their behaviours.

General duties will include:

Being a mentor and role model to all students
Encouraging pupils to engage
Positively reinforcing good behaviours
Allowing pupils to grow in confidence
The school are looking to shortlist candidates ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
